About Us
Bucky Dutts is veteran owned and operated. We like to dip our toes in different waters, try new things, tinker, and learn as much as we can about anything and everything. We’re just here to have some fun.
Bucky Dutts was originally supposed to be for rubber duck plugs only, but it seems to be turning into a brand name that encompasses multiple areas. As we learn more and create more things we want to share with the world, we will continue to grow. We are thrilled to have you join us on our journey. There is more to come.
The Story of Joey “Buttquacks”
In the back alleys and rain-slick gutters of old New York, long before he ever floated lazily in a Florida pool, there was a small yellow duckling who grew up under the shadow of the city’s most powerful pond family.
His name was Joey Buttquacks.
Nobody remembered exactly how he got the nickname. Some said it was because as a kid he had a habit of mouthing off to older ducks and getting kicked straight into the pond. Others said it was because he once backed into a rival goose during a street scrap and knocked the bird clean into a fountain. Either way, the name stuck.
And in the duck underworld, names matter.
The Pond Family
Joey grew up in the territory controlled by the Quackleone Family, the most respected—and feared—organization in the city’s park systems.
At the top sat the boss himself:
Don Salvatore “Don Quackleone” Quackleone
Old, sharp-eyed, and always calm. A duck who could end a turf war with one quiet sentence.
His right wing was Vito “The Drake” Mallardo, the underboss who ran most of the street business.
And advising them both was Frankie Featherfingers, the consigliere who knew every crumb deal, every pond alliance, and every rival goose gang in the boroughs.
Joey grew up around them. His father had done odd jobs for the family—mostly moving “bread shipments” from one park to another without attracting the attention of pigeons or city park rangers.
From the time Joey was young, the life surrounded him.
Joey’s First Jobs
At first the work was small.
Joey ran messages for Tony Two-Wings, one of the Quackleone capos. Deliver a note. Watch a park bench. Make sure a bread thrower got escorted safely to the right pond.
He was quick. Smart. Quiet.
Soon he was working with Joey “Bread Crumbs” Biscotti, who ran the family’s most important operation—control of the picnic territories.
Bread was power.
And nobody moved bread through Central Park without Biscotti knowing about it.
Joey proved himself there. He had a knack for slipping through crowds unnoticed and spotting trouble before it started.
That’s when Vito Mallardo took notice.
Moving Up the Pond
Mallardo brought Joey into bigger operations.
Collecting “tributes” from smaller duck crews.
Keeping geese gangs from pushing into Quackleone territory.
Escorting high-value bread shipments after big city festivals.
Joey even worked a few nights with Carlo Coldpond, handling “disputes” with the Mallard Syndicate, a rougher crew that didn’t always respect Quackleone authority.
Those were the nights Joey started seeing the darker side of the life.
Feathers in the water.
Broken wings.
Ponds that went quiet after midnight.
The Job That Changed Everything
The turning point came one cold autumn evening.
Don Quackleone called a meeting.
The Mallard Syndicate, run by Bruno Broadbill, had started pushing into Quackleone territory near the big fountain downtown. Bread trucks were being intercepted. Park territories were changing hands.
The Don wanted it handled quietly.
Joey was assigned to work with Rico Razorbeak and Tony Two-Wings to send a message.
No bloodshed if possible.
But if it came to it…
Well, the pond would deal with it.
The job went sideways.
A scuffle broke out. Wings flared. Someone slipped on wet stone.
By the time it was over, a Syndicate soldier was floating face-down in the fountain.
Joey stood there staring at the ripples spreading across the water.
For the first time, he realized something.
This life never ended.
You didn’t retire.
You didn’t move away.
You just sank deeper into the pond.
The Escape
Over the next few weeks Joey started asking quiet questions.
About other ponds.
Warmer places.
Places where nobody knew the name Buttquacks.
One night, Frankie Featherfingers caught him staring south at the migration flocks flying overhead.
Frankie just said:
“Kid… if you’re gonna leave, leave before someone higher up decides you’re too valuable to lose.”
That was all Joey needed to hear.
A few days later he disappeared.
No goodbye.
No note.
Just gone.
Florida
Months later, far from the cold parks of New York, a lone yellow duck appeared in a quiet Florida pool.
Warm water.
No rival crews.
No bread rackets.
No Don watching every move.
These days Joey spends most afternoons floating peacefully in the sun, watching palm trees sway and listening to distant seagulls argue over fries.
Sometimes the past drifts back.
The fountains.
The old meetings.
The voice of Don Quackleone echoing through marble park statues.
But Joey just leans back and lets the water carry him.
Because in Florida, for the first time in his life…
Joey Buttquacks is finally out of the pond game.
